Grants and financial aid

Criteria and procedures

In French educational institutions abroad, families must pay school fees for their children. In view of the cost of schooling, the public authorities have set up an aid scheme in the form of grants (Articles D531-45 to D531-51 of the Education Code).

Conditions of access

⚠️ Scholarships 2022/2023: Applications received until Friday, September 30, 2022 (updated on September 23, 2022)

Scholarships are reserved for French children, residing with their families (at least one of their parents) abroad, registered in the World Register of French nationals living outside France and, as a general rule, enrolled in an establishment approved by the Ministry of National Education. They are allocated on a means-tested basis. The latter must be compatible with an allocation scale determined according to the economic and social situation of each country.
