Prospective veterinarians will learn the main responsibilities of a veterinarian and learn how to care for a dog and a cat. Kids will learn how to remove ticks, do a nose-to-tail exam, understand the proper nutrition and hydration of animals, suture lacerations, and much more! Each student will receive a kit of materials to use in class and at home.

Our future doctors will discover the different medical skills and learn CPR and the Heimlich method. They will also study the vital functions of the human body through practical activities and role plays. Students will learn about the composition of the blood, the importance of medication, as well as vaccination and injections. Each student will receive a kit of materials to use in class and at home.

In our online chess classes, students will have the opportunity to learn how to play the chess game from one of our best teachers.

The courses are structured as follows: teaching the structure of the game, practicing the game under the supervision of their instructor and analyzing the games played.

To participate in the online chess class, students will be connected to Zoom and Lichess. A safe student account will be created on Lichess for each student.

We offer lessons from beginner to advanced level and certificates indicating the level reached will be given at the end of each session. But most importantly, our small groups allow for quality personalized teaching and students learn while having fun!

Annual program

The lycée students, following the Mathematics specialty or the “Complementary Mathematics” option, will have the opportunity to deepen certain mathematical notions not or little studied in French programs and feel even more comfortable in their first university year .

 This complementary program of Ontario mathematics will be offered two hours weekly from the end of September and until March. The weekday dedicated to this workshop will be fixed at the end of August, when the timetables will be known.

Math club is a fun and competitive activity that any student can participate in.

It is a great way to develop intuitive and analytical thinking and to learn about math in a different way, not just as a set of rules or guidelines, but as an art form in its own right.

Students will use their knowledge, learned in school math classes, to think about fun and challenging problems.

Those who wish to do so will have the opportunity to prepare for participation in various mathematical competitions.

Over the course of 7 weeks, students will learn to program their own interactive stories and games using the free online program called Scratch. They will learn basic programming concepts, problem solving, conceptualization and creative expression.

Scratch is a visual programming language created by the MIT Media Lab in 2007. Its colorful block interface makes it one of the most intuitive programming languages to learn for children of all ages. It is used around the world to introduce children and teenagers to the basics of programming.

5ÈME to 3ÈME

The Night of Code is an international programming competition organized by the Lycée Français de Taipei. It is open to all French high schools in the world: the 2021 competition will take place online in the participating schools.

Participants will have to program a game entirely with Scratch software from a provided game world. The event will last 6 hours. The main evaluation criteria will be the playability of the project, creativity and technique (complexity of the code). During these 6 hours, students will test their ability to work in groups, their algorithmic and mathematical skills.

Our facilitators will offer a specific and adapted curriculum that will help volunteers prepare for this competition.

Minecraft is a virtual “sand game”, an electronic terrain where users can create their own universes and try their hand at different experiences using the diverse and varied resources offered by the platform.

Minecraft is a ‘sandbox game’. This means that it’s a virtual land where users can create their own worlds and experiences, using building blocks, resources discovered on the site and their own creativity. We will use Minecraft for Education Edition for this course.

Roblox is a game-creation website where users design and upload their own games — and play games that other people have created — in a multiplayer environment.

Wize Computing Academy’s Roblox coding courses provides the perfect way to learn programming, 3D modelling & game design with Roblox Studio. We use the text based programming language Lua to code in Roblox.

3D design and printing teach important STEAM concepts and design thinking. It helps unlock children’s natural drive to create, share and explore. We use easy to use, intuitive and engaging software to allow young students to transition from drawing in 2D to designing in 3D in minutes.

We will be using CoSpaces EDU tool to create AR/VR interactive content and teach coding to young learners. We will explore the creation of virtual tours, storytelling, games and simulations.

Virtual Reality, or VR, is a medium that allows the viewer to get immersed into a virtual 3D experience. The virtual environment replaces the real world in the eyes of the viewer, who can move and look around, and sometimes even interact with the virtual content.

Augmented Reality, or AR, let us see the real-life environment right in front of us—trees swaying in the park, dogs chasing balls, kids playing soccer—with a digital augmentation overlaid on it.

Our Lego Robotics program is designed to get kids building and programming robots using a wide variety of Lego components that include Smart Hubs, motors, sensors, wheels, gears, pulleys, axles, and much more! Each week is a new engineering lesson and new robot to build and program. Each class starts with a brief lesson on a science or engineering topic followed by robot building and programming for the remainder of the session.

The Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotics platform is used for teaching robotics and coding fundamentals. EV3 features an easy-to-use graphical programming interface that lets students immediately begin simple robotics programming and as their skills increase progress to very complex algorithms and programs. Students put their Lego EV3 robots to the test as they learn to construct a variety of programs to control their robot to follow lines, activate using touch, ultrasonic and colour sensors, and much more.
